Closed Doors and Open Windows

A breath,
the smallest wisp,
swirled around the room.
The end of an era.

New unseen beginnings,
waiting to unfold,
fill the air,
smoldering in anticipation.

She paused,
frozen in time,
wanting to stay in the ending
forever.

But the sun sets,
as it always does,
signaling death.
This season is over.

The morning will arrive,
pushing through resistance,
it’s light revealing
what’s to come.
