Franklin on Ice

I live in a great small town. Probably the best thing about this little town is that they have tons of festivals and community activities through out the year. One of my favorites is Franklin on Ice. They have a group of ice sculptors come and carve amazing ice sculptures and they place them  through out the down town park. They make it a big event.  A lot of the sculptures get carved right there in front of you. All the local shops on main street are open with special sales and fun activities and have great food and warm drinks. Then at night they light up some of the sculptures. It is quite a sight!

Now you should know, and you can tell just by looking, I am not a photographer. So these pictures are not the best and do not do it justice by any means but I still wanted to share them with you. Enjoy!

These are just a few of the amazing sculptures they had. They also had a throne that you could sit on and an ice slide for the kids to slide down! So creative!

I love my little town.

70586_WomensToms_HP_2014_0111_CR2_1390951167  TOMS: TOMS is a shoes company that not only has great shoes but they have a great mission as well. For every pair of shoes sold they donate a pair to a child in need. So when you are buying something for yourself you are helping others too! Isn’t that wonderful?

The Honest Company: I just stumbled upon this one and I am super excited about it. If you are looking for natural hair care, natural disposable diapers, or even natural household cleaning products you should check this company out! I have been looking for a more natural shampoo and I am excited to take advantage of this sale so I can try out their products.

Royal Fluff -Baby Bottoms:   If you are a cloth diaper momma you won’t want to miss out on this sale. I personally have never tried this brand but I am always on the look out for cloth diaper deals. These diapers are normally $22.99-$23.99 each. Zulily has select diapers on sale for $10.99! Wow!

These are just a few of the MANY deals they have going on right now. So let’s go shopping!

Little Monkey’s Growing up!

Little Monkey Boy's Birthday Pies.

Little Monkey Boy’s Birthday Pies.

My wonderful little Monkey Boy turned two yesterday!

I know most parents say this but Man! Time really does fly by! And with Monkey Boy it seems to have gone warp speed. He has done everything way earlier than my first son. Trying to keep up with spunky big brother I suppose.

This year I feel a little bad because I just didn’t have it in me to do a big party. For all of Spunky Boy’s birthdays I have done big themed parties with friends and favors and games. So of course I wanted to do the same for Monkey Boy. But with all that’s been going on with my family (there may be a post about it at some point) the last three months in 2013 were crazy and tiring and by the time January came around I was spent. Planning a party and inviting people to my house just didn’t seem fun. So we had a small party with just family. I did want to make it somewhat special though so I made his favorite desert. PIE! Let me tell you, this little guy is obsessed with pie. He asks for it all the time. Don’t get me wrong. He likes cake but this two year old has an obsession with all things pie. He even gobbled down broccoli quiche because I told him it was egg pie.

He was pretty pleased with his two happy birthday apple pies. 🙂

I often worry about what it says about me as a mom if I do things less extravagant for my second child then my first.  I know that with your second you are a lot more busy and more strapped for cash then with just one kid.  (Although we were pretty strapped with just one.) But still, I feel bad. Like I’m letting him down or loving one better than the other.

My husband just reminds me that I do love him just as much and that he is only two and probably won’t remember. Although if he did remember something it would be that he got pie. It’s all about the pie.
